The heatwaves have given clear evidence of that. What are some of your observations around wellbeing during these extreme heat events?

Reflections from our recent hike in the New Forest. It’s important for us to keep having conversations around the impacts of climate change, and actually acknowledging what is actually happening around us.

Conscious that I sound quite down here, but the few things I can think to help are:
Watering young trees - in some areas, watering street trees is exempt from hosepipe bans but obviously, check local guidance.

Adhere to the hosepipe bans

Don’t leave the tap running and fix leaks - it’ll save your bills too

Go to your local park. Despite the dryness, these are still spaces we can cherish even as they change.

Support your local climate action groups.

all these wonderful views could be yours to take in if you join our hike on Saturday 1 August.

We will be in New Forest National Park, an area of ancient woodland, grazing ponies and incredible heritage. A nice change to the usual hustle and bustle of daily life, our hikes are about connecting with nature and likeminded people.
