What is Arthur's Seat?

This large, grass covered hill is the remains of an extinct volcano that erupted 350 million years ago. Arthur’s Seat is the highest point of this extinct volcano.

Although the origin of the name is unsure, some claim that there is a connection between Edinburgh and King Arthur. Arthur’s Seat may have been the location of legendary Camelot.

There is an opportunity to climb Arthur's Seat in your free time on our Edinburgh & The Highlands trip. It's an optional trip but we highly recommend it for a fresh start to your Sunday morning on the trip.

Visit England’s oldest university town and take a trip to a picturesque city paired with a visit to enchanting Cotswolds countryside.

The Cotswolds is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s home to some of the most beautiful, quaint English villages such as Bourton-on-the-Water & Burford. We give you time to take in the peacefulness of the countryside, take photos and breathe in the fresh British countryside air.

After enjoying a cream tea, we head over to Oxford for a walking tour, free time and lunch to walk the streets of Oxford. See the river where Lewis Carroll took the real Alice in Wonderland, Hogwart’s dining hall (when available) and the colleges where CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien taught. Picture perfect.

Travel by Eurostar to Paris, one of the most romantic cities in the world.

We start with the monumental Arc de Triomphe and the chic Champs-Élysées, and your first chance for a crepe! Next stop is the world famous Louvre, which is so much more than just the Mona Lisa.

Saturday, a walk through Beaubourg and the Marais before arriving at the Île de la Cité and Notre Dame. The morning ends with a boat cruise down the Seine. Free time in the Latin Quarter gives you a chance to enjoy some French cuisine. Afternoon is free time, and it’s a great time to go the Eiffel Tower.

Sunday you have optional visits to Versailles or you may wish to visit museums like the Musee D’Orsay or meander through the famous artists quarter of Montmartre. The choice is yours.

Finally, we return to London by Eurostar.

This is your chance to experience 1000 years of history in the grounds of Dover Castle. During the visit, we walk amongst tunnels used during World War II and marvel at the beauty of the White Cliffs of Dover.

We enjoy the fresh sea air and an invigorating atmosphere while relaxing with panoramic views for fantastic photographs. We also visit Dover Castle, a powerful fortress that has been guarding England’s shores from invasion for almost 1000 years and enjoy the spectacular view of the White Cliffs of Dover.

See the Great Tower, of this Norman Fortress, and see what makes this castle so formidable. Its secret tunnels were command centre for Dunkirk evacuation, and its ramparts the meeting point of Henry VIII and his new wife Anne of Cleves. We also enjoy a walk on the world famous White Cliffs of Dover; be ready for some breath taking views!
