Employing women and driving change in India! 🛺🇮🇳

This week saw the launch of the Lake City Rickshaw Company in Udaipur! 🎉

Based on the much-loved and successful Pink City Rickshaw Company in Jaipur, the social enterprise offers women from underserved communities employment opportunities, equipping them with the skills and support to become professional rickshaw drivers within the city's busy tourism sector.

Empowering women to take the wheel of electric rickshaws, the Lake City Rickshaw Company will not only provide income and promote equality in what is a traditionally male-dominated role but also offer a green way to see the city sights.

Working with our charitable partner, non-profit Access Development Services in India, the Wild Frontiers Foundation has helped fund the training for 20 women to host tours of the city in 11 stylish, custom-designed electric rickshaws.

Much of the training is being carried out by members of the Pink City Rickshaw Company team, many of whom were in Udaipur for the official launch and on hand to share their own inspirational and life-changing stories as a result of their employment within the enterprise.

Like the Pink City Rickshaw tours, we will weave the new experiences with the Lake City Rickshaws into selected Wild Frontiers group tour itineraries and tailor-made holidays to Rajasthan from around September.

Sustainable and community tourism at its best! 🙌

They went the extra mile…and they absolutely smashed it! 🌟🏃🏻‍♀️

Our incredible dream team hit the ground running (literally) this past Sunday, participating in the London Landmarks Half Marathon to support the Wild Frontiers Foundation and the remarkable projects we champion. 🙌

With the sun shining bright, our ladies made us proud, beaming all the way to the finish line—a true testament to their positive spirit in the face of any challenge!

Thanks to our amazing travellers and supporters, we raised £1,250 for the WF-supported Baleygon Community School and Kalash Valley cleanup in Pakistan, The Gondar Girls Football Team in Ethiopia, The Lone Buffalo English Development Centre in Laos, and The Pink City Rickshaw Company in India.

Our dream team of runners are preparing to step away from their desks to take on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on April 6th!

What motivates them? The opportunity to raise vital funds for the Wild Frontiers Foundation and the impactful projects we support in the communities we visit.

“A great way to see a LOT of Vietnam, both on and off the beaten paths.” 🇻🇳

Our traveller, Damon, had a wonderful time on our Vietnam Explorer group tour.

This trip balances visits to some of the country’s better-known and much-lauded sights – such as Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City – with some more off-beat places such as Phong Nha-Ke Bang with its stunning cave systems and Bach Ma with its faded French colonial mansions, stunning vistas and impressive wildlife.
