"Tracing My African Routes" is a book about my 1929 Morris Minor that rising like phoenix from the ashes in 1970 to tour Zimbabwe and Zambia in 2023. This is my story and will be delivered from 15th December 2024. The first 100 signed copies are limited editions available from https://www.helion.co.uk/military-history-books/tracing-my-african-routes-out-and-back-to-africa-in-a-1929-morris-minor.php

Touring to visit the car's past 10 owners addresses as well as raising donations for the Cecily's Fund to educate Aids orphans in Zambia, the trip faced and overcame many challenges.

Tracing My African Routes - just one of the military history books available from Helion & Company.

BACK TO AFRICA TRIP POSTONED 22/3/20
I regret to report that due to the Covid-19 pandemic I am forced to postpone my trip to Zimbabwe and Zambia. Last year it was called off due to a Coup, hurricane and famine, this year a virus and petrol shortages! What will next year bring? Many thanks to all those who donated to the Cecily's Fund, but there is no reason to stop as the AIDS orphans of Zambia will always need your assistance. I hope my third attempt will be possible later this year or around April 2021. Thanks to all who have supported me and had made offers of accommodation and other assistance. I'll be back!

I am embarking on a long planned ‘Back to Africa’ tour that starts 12th April 2020 and returning to Cape Town 29th May; please see : http://www.back-to-africa-in-a-1929morrisminor.com. Also see Instagram ‘peterw.hills'

The objective of my 'Back to Africa' trip is to trace my 1929 Morris Minor past life on a 2,000km drive around Zimbabwe and Zambia outside Kitwe where I discovered the wreck in 1970. I will be visiting the addresses of all past ten owners.

An important aspect of this mad trip is to raise money for the Cecily's Fund to improve the lives of AIDS Orphan Kids in Zambia. Feel free to share these web sites. See https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Back-to-africa

Contributions will help achieve the fund target for those much less fortunate than ourselves.

Started with a few photos mid 2015 it now has over 8000 images of birds covering 2545 species from 36 countries. During April and May on my 1929 Morris tour of Zimbabwe and Zambia I hope to add new species, then in July I will be cruising the Arctic for new species and others in their breeding plumages so much to look forward to. Thanks to all those who have visited: http://www.worldbirdphotos.com
