At first glance, Kher’s Ghost looks like it could be another classic marble sculpture. But focus and find it’s actually a 1950s shop mannequin draped un a resin-dripped Sari.

Kher’s mother ran a Sari shop in Streatham, South London, so it is likely this influenced the piece.

Surronded by classic marble in similar form, Ghost speaks to the invisible histories in museums that are inseparable from Europe’s colonial past.

For the first time in 360 YEARS, pelican chicks have hatched in St. James’ Park. Six Pelicans have been in the park since they were gifted by the Russian ambassador to King Charles ll in 1664. Over the years we’ve relied on donations of new pelicans to keep the tradition alive. These unprecedented chicks hatched on May 17, meaning they have survived the toughest stages and seem to be healthy and hungry. The biological parents are unknown but two of the female pelicans (Star and Gargi) are currently coparenting beautifully.
