🍄‍🟫A new one for me spotted in quite a few locations around May Hill- the Powderpuff bracket fungi. Beautiful amber droplets on some of them.

Habitat:- Spruce wood and needle debris, rarely other conifers.

Scientific name:- Postia ptychogaster

🤍 The beautiful Porcelain fungus, the caps look exactly like delicately glazed porcelain. It is one of the most photogenic mushrooms in the woodland as so delicate and seems to glisten 🤍

Scientific Name:- Mucidula mucida

Habitat:- Saprobic on stumps, trunks and branches of dead beech trees, also weakly parasitic upon living beech trees, often very high up. These used to be up high but now on ground level as the tree fell a couple of years ago. Far easier to take photos!

The remains of an outdoor dinner party at the scouts field canpsite, behind May Hill Village Hall.

What a beautiful place to spend an evening camping with friends, under the old veteran oaks!

The campsite is available to hire as an exclusive whole site hire. It's a great place for groups of friends enjoying a weekend together. Get in touch if you'd like to know more.
