Next Wednesday, 12th August, Cornwall will experience a spectacular partial solar eclipse, with the best viewing anywhere west-facing from 6pm onwards.

As we look forward to next week’s eclipse, we’re also looking back to the unforgettable 1999 total solar eclipse.

Were you in Looe? Do you remember where you watched it? We’d love to hear your memories and see your photos from that day.

Remember: Never look directly at the sun. Always use certified eclipse glasses or a solar viewer.
