🐾 A little reminder about our no-pets policy 🐾
I’ve unfortunately just had to turn guests away from staying with us as they arrived with a dog.
Our no-pets policy is clearly stated on all our advertising and booking platforms. Assistance dogs are welcome, but please contact us before staying and provide information about the assistance need so this can be discussed in advance.
I genuinely feel gutted and awful having to turn anyone away, and it’s certainly not something I ever want to do. I gave the guests a full refund and contacted the booking platform, who cancelled the booking, meaning the guests then had to find alternative accommodation.
Our insurance covers the annexe as pet-free, and allowing animals could also affect cover for future guests with allergies.
Although this was not the case here, just a little extra information: under the UK Equality Act, emotional support or wellbeing dogs are not automatically classed as assistance dogs simply because they provide emotional support.
Please check our policy before travelling so we can avoid anyone being put in this position. ❤️
