Mill Stream Barn is an outstanding self catering holiday cottage, located in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty but only seven miles from the “Capital of the Wolds”, the historic market town of Louth.

Celebrating our wonderful county today!

This is St James’s Church, Louth surrounded by the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds - some days you can even see the Sea from here 🌊

Lincolnshire Day originally celebrates the Lincolnshire Rising that began on 1st October 1536 (490 years ago!) where a rebellion began at St James’s Church against Henry VIII and the dissolution of the monasteries.

Louth’s Vicar (Thomas Kendall) and Donington on Bain’s Vicar (Peter Page) were both subsequently executed for treason.

This rebellion inspired the later Pilgrimage of Grace.

Henry VIII in October 1536 famously called Lincolnshire “one of the most brute and beestelie of the hole realme”! 😂

✨Last weekend was the Donington on Bain Scarecrow competition! ✨

There were some amazing scarecrows and it was so lovely to see everyone’s creativity and humour ❤️

We were very proud to receive the “Amazing Display Award” for our Viking Trio, which we did in honour of the Viking Way turning 50!

Congratulations to the winners and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!

🐾 Dogs are welcome at Mill Stream Barn!🐾

Here are some recent pictures taken of our gorgeous doggy guests Myrtle and Blossom enjoying their stay at The Milking Parlour!

We are dog friendly here at MSB and welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs in each barn.

We offer doggy treats and have essentials such as water bowls, beddings and towels to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

If you have recently stayed with us and have pics of your dogs at the Barns, please do share them as we’d always love to see them!

Who else absolutely LOVES Spring? 🌸

We’ve had some beautiful weather recently and with the crab apple tree in blossom and the little ducklings swimming about, it feels so peaceful.
