The Saga of our Garage Experiences. Part One
After booking our van in the garage on Monday 18th November, despite them checking vehicle make, model, weight and size, we arrive and the garage says " oh sorry can't fit you in, you are too big" We say, " But you already have a motorhome in that bay and you had all the measurements". "Oh" , they reply, "That is the bosses motorhome".
So we next phone another garage that was recommended by the first one, they can't see us until Thursday 21st. We have already been waiting in Fleetwood for five days.
Get to garage on Thursday they also have been given our make, model, size but on arrival also turn around and say can't complete the job!
Honest how pathetic, as much use as a chocolate fireguard! However they did diagnose the problem, confirming what we had originally thought was wrong and found something else as well. Front wheel bearing and drive shaft seal.
Next we reached out to a local friend who was able to give more garages to try.
We must have rang over 10 who were all full until about the 2nd week in December.
Booked ourselves in to one with a CL near to it for Tuesday 26th November , checked our dimensions will fit and they can do the job.
Arrive at the cl site where the owner has his own motorhome. Briefly explained our problem he also told us of a garage to try.
Thought well let's see how much they will charge for comparison and could they fit us in.
Came in less the £100 cheaper than the other with more details of work to be covered than the other garage so booked in there for next week.
Roll on Tuesday.
We were supposed to be having a tour of Scotland grrr.
Only managed to make it as far as Fleetwood.
It's like back in March when van broke down and we were supposed to go to Spain!!
What a pain 😰😭
