Stop pet pesticides polluting our rivers π§
Out and about on Exmoor this Easter? Please help protect our waterways by keeping dogs out of rivers if theyβve been treated with spot-on flea and tick treatments.
These products often contain powerful insecticides (such as fipronil and imidacloprid) that are harming aquatic wildlife. They can enter rivers when dogs swim, or even through drainage water after owners wash their hands post-application or bath treated pets.
How you can help:
β’ Consider alternative treatments such as oral or non-toxic options when combating ticks and fleas.
β’ Keep dogs out of rivers for at least 28 days after treatment if using spot-on products.
β’ Always pick up after your dog and dispose of waste responsibly.
