Children and Young People of Mablethorpe produced a document that was shared with the community last April called “10 things young people in Mablethorpe need form their town”. Now thanks to Mablethorpe Area Partnership, item 1 “a safe, indoor space just for young people to hang out in, or to connect with youth workers” has become a reality. Mablethorpe Area Partnership have leased the old ATC Hut on Sherwood Fields for the use of the community and the Youth Club will be running from it from this week. Member of the youth club entered the competition to give the building a new name and we are please to announce the winner.

John Pettifor from Mablethorpe is pictured with the Easter Egg kindly donated by TESCO for his name suggestion. The building will now be know as Sherwood Youth & Community Hut. John and his family were away for Easter so his prize was a little late but congratulation John and thank you for the new name.

Mablethorpe Youth Club is now run from the Sherwood Youth & Community Hut, Sherwood Fields, Mablethorpe, every Wednesday evening from 6pm to 8pm for young people aged 8 to 18 years.

We are very pleased to announce the beach huts are now back on the prom. Back to plan A! We placed them There last year.

This year we didnt want to impeed to building of the new colonnade, so we gained permission for them to be placed on the beach. They are placed away from the new colonnade area so work can commence in September.

Unfortunately the easterly wind made sand disappear from underneath the huts. So we went back to plan A, the comments on facebook helped us immensely to gain the correct permissions to place them on the prom. So we thank you for that.

They are available for rent with immediate effect. In fact the first one is already booked for the for the forthcoming bank holiday. As they say there is no such thing as bad publicity.

The container will still be painted as planned by a local youth group.

The start date for the group is Thursday 7th April but people can register their interest now, the programme will run for some time but each person has 10 free sessions, and after that there is a small fee to pay to continue with the programme.
