The lovely Sara Davies who is customer of Travel Counsellors is having the best time with her family in the Alta, Northern Norway. Hereโs her latest news!
โI am in loveโฆ utterly, completely in love with this place! ๐ค
As many of you know, last year I had the most unbelievable opportunity to travel to Northern Norway and trek 50km across the Arctic Circle for Comic Relief
I was so blown away by the untouched beauty and incredible scenery that I knew I had to bring the boys back here one day so they could experience it first-hand.
Weโve been to Scandinavia before and done all the fun snow activities in Lapland, but this time I wanted them to see more of the real side of it. The breathtaking landscape, how the Sami people live, and a way of life thatโs so different from back home, and something you can never truly understand without seeing it for yourself.
So we decided to go a little off the beaten track (not quite as far off as I did with the girls for Comic Relief, mind you!). After lots of thorough research, well not from me, but from Travel Counsellors, we built the most incredible itinerary up in Northern Norway, right on the northern coast, tucked away in one of the fjords.
Weโre staying at the stunning Sorrisniva - Alta, Norway a family-owned hotel in the most beautiful location, which also runs Arctic snowmobile adventures straight from the hotel.
Today, the kids got a little taste of what I experienced in the Arctic. Swapping cross-country skis for much more powerful snowmobiles, with Mam and Dad as their expert drivers! And instead of camping out in sub-zero temperatures, we headed back to the hotel for a touch of luxury, but they definitely got the idea. Iโve also spent hours retelling my Arctic adventure stories all over again!
Weโre here for a few more days yet, with even more exciting things planned.โ
