A little update from the round… 🥛🌧️
What a miserable, drizzly night, and strangely warm too! The sort of weather where you put your coat on, get too warm, take it off, get wet, and keep repeating the process all night. 😂
Lots of customers are still away enjoying themselves, which, with the cost of everything at the moment, probably cheaper than going to work! Hopefully you’re finding a bit more sunshine than we are.
Meanwhile, Halloween decorations are appearing thick and fast, the effort seems to go up another notch every year. 🎃 Of course, milkmen and women across the country are now entering that familiar annual guessing game…
“Is that one of those that makes a noise?”
“Does that thing jump out?”
“And was that standing there when I walked in?” 👀
You may laugh, but come back at 2am, when it’s drizzling, there’s a slight wind, nobody’s about, and the garden you’re walking into looks somewhere between The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Hannibal Lecter’s front garden.
I kid you not, it’s an experience! You’re trying to put two pints down quietly while keeping one eye on a suspicious-looking skeleton. If your camera catches the milkman having a little wobble, just remember: you’ve had your entertainment, and we’ve still got another 200 gardens to survive. 😂💀
On a less terrifying note, a couple of spaces have opened up on the round. We’ve had a handful of customers pause for five or six weeks, promise they’ll be back, and then disappear after we’ve kept their space for them. We’ve seen that one plenty of times over the years… 👻
So, if you’d like milk and a range of other lovely essentials delivered reliably to your doorstep twice a week, please get in touch. We’re a small local business, and we’d love to welcome a few new faces to the round. 🥛🥚🍞
Preferably faces that don’t light up and scream… 💀👻🎃
