Something monstrous is coming to Maidstone this October half term! From 25th to 31st October 2026, Maidstone⁠ Town Centre will be taken over as Maidstone’s Monster Mash arrives for the week.⁠

⁠Follow the trail around town and discover giant monster installations, colourful monster vinyls featuring designs⁠ from our community competition, and some hidden monsters waiting to be found along the way.

Plus, the⁠ monster fun doesn’t stop there! Businesses across the town centre will be joining in throughout the week with⁠ monster-themed activities, treats, offers and more.⁠

Head to Creative Maidstone on Gabriel’s Hill to see a gallery of Monster Mash competition designs and meet⁠ even more monsters created by our community.⁠

⁠Strike a pose with the monsters! Keep your camera ready for our Monster Mash photo competition and your⁠ chance to win a prize.⁠

⁠Brought to you by OneMaidstone BID, and supported by Maidstone Borough Council, the installations have been⁠ created by Designs in Air, founded by artists Filthy Luker & Pedro Estrellas, whose larger-than-life inflatable⁠ creations transform everyday buildings and public spaces into surreal, unexpected and brilliantly ridiculous⁠ sights.⁠

⁠It’s completely free to enjoy and a great reason for families to explore Maidstone during half term. ⁠

As Maidstone continues to come together to celebrate Black heritage this month, the countdown to visit Creative Maidstone Black History Month exhibition is now on!

Closing at the end of this month, don't miss the chance to visit, reflect and view different pieces of artwork from talented artists.

Halloween at Leeds Castle, Kent starts this weekend!

Horrible Histories is once again invading Leeds Castle, bringing all of history’s nastiest, ghostliest secrets with it. From 17th October to 1st November, the Castle grounds become a ghost getter’s trail, crawling with royal spirits, witch trials and superstitions gruesome enough to make your skin crawl (in a good way).

Once you have completed your Halloween quest, enjoy a peaceful stroll through the estate’s stunning gardens, each offering unique charm and vibrant autumn colours. Take a moment to appreciate the rich history and beauty of Leeds Castle and its enchanting surroundings this autumn.
