โ๏ธIf youโre planning a trip to the UK (or have family visiting you), this is important ๐
๐ฌ๐ง The UK is introducing a new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme
From 2024 onwards (being rolled out in phases), visitors from certain countries who currently donโt need a visa will now need to apply for an ETA before travelling to the UK.
Hereโs what that means in simple terms:
โ๏ธ You must apply online before you travel
๐ฒ Itโs linked electronically to your passport
๐ณ There is a small application fee
โณ Itโs valid for multiple visits over a set period
๐ซ You wonโt be allowed to board your flight without it
This is similar to the ESTA for the USA, itโs not a visa, but it is mandatory.
If you:
โข Have family flying to the UK
โข Are booking travel for international clients
โข Are travelling via the UK as part of a wider itinerary
Make sure you check whether an ETA is required before confirming plans.
As a travel designer, I always keep an eye on updates like this so my clients donโt get caught out at the airport.
If youโre unsure whether this affects your upcoming trip, message me, Iโm happy to guide you โจ
