Leaving your dogs behind when you go away never feels quite right. You’re halfway through a beautiful walk thinking “the dogs would absolutely love this…” 🐶
At Lahtle Wood, you don’t have to choose between a relaxing getaway and bringing your four-legged best friends along. Nestled between the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Coast, we’re surrounded by some of the best dog-friendly beaches in North Yorkshire – all within about an hour’s drive.
🌊 Hunmanby Gap – a huge sandy beach with loads of space for zoomies, sea swims, and long coastal walks. One of our family favourites with views stretching towards Flamborough Head and Filey. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the 4-mile walk to Filey for fish & chips before strolling back along the sand.
🏖 Fraisthorpe Beach – another wide open stretch of sand where dogs are welcome all year round. Perfect for long peaceful beach walks and watching the waves roll in.
🪨 Flamborough Head – dramatic limestone cliffs, hidden caves to explore at low tide, and even the chance to spot seals. Paddleboards welcome if you fancy seeing it from the water. Nearby Danes D**e and South Landing are beautiful spots for a blustery coastal wander.
🌅 Runswick Bay, Staithes, and Robin Hood’s Bay – picture-perfect fishing villages with cobbled streets, incredible coastal views, and dog-friendly beaches perfect for exploring, fossil hunting, and soaking up that Yorkshire coast charm.
After a full day of salty air, sandy paws and wagging tails, head back to your cosy off-grid pod at Lahtle Wood. There’s plenty of space for the dogs to roam, grass to roll in, and hoses to rinse off those sandy paws.
Then it’s time for the best part… 🍕
Wood-fired sourdough pizza from the Grubshack, eaten under twinkling fairy lights while you relax after a day of coastal adventures.
Because the best holidays are the ones the dogs get to enjoy too. 🐾
✨ Save this for your next dog-friendly Yorkshire getaway.
