This repair is on my own vehicle. On Sunday morning I was heading home after visiting family in Scotland. I’d been driving for about 10 minutes when a deer ran out in to the road and ran straight into the side of the car. I immediately stopped to check on the deer, and I could see that he was still breathing. I waited, not really knowing what to do, and all of a sudden the deer started to thrash around on the ground, but I honestly thought I was about to watch him die. But he managed to get up again, and stood there for a few seconds looking at me. He slowly walked towards the grass verge and then bolted up the bank. Once at the top of the bank he stopped and just stood there looking at me again for a few seconds. Then he leapt a wire fence and ran off into the tree line. I felt sure he would be ok, perhaps he was just a little stunned. Once I was home I started on the repair, not feeling confident that I could get it all out. However, after nearly 5 hours, this was the finished result. It isn’t quite perfect, but it’s very close. It will still need to be painted as the paint is split where the door skin folded around the side impact bar from the impact.
