🎃 OCTOBER HALF-TERM IS NEARLY HERE! 🚐💜

And we’ll have a busy week ahead of us! 😂🙌

Three trips, three days and plenty of fun to be had!

We’ve still got spaces available across our half-term trips, so if you’re wondering what to do with your young people, why not send them off on an adventure with us? 😁

🔐 WE ESCAPED! 🙌

Last week’s Let’s Go! Mcr trip was a good one! 💜

We started the morning with a little park stop to give everyone chance to settle in and get to know each other before heading over to Houdini’s Escape Room at Parrs Wood.

For four of the group it was their very first escape room, and what a first one to do! We managed to make it out with 11 minutes to spare 🎉

After lunch we had a little arcade stop before heading over to Wythenshawe Park for the afternoon…where a random book of riddles I’d picked up that morning ended up becoming one of the highlights of the day 😂 We worked our way through around 30 of them and everyone got completely involved.

Sometimes it’s the big activities that make the day…and sometimes it’s standing in a park arguing over the answer to a riddle 🤣

Such a lovely little group and a really good day all round 💛🙌

👀 November planning is officially well underway…

We’ve been busy behind the scenes looking at new places, revisiting a few old favourites and seeing what we can squeeze into next month 😅

There are already a couple of ideas we’re really hoping we can make work…and a few emails currently sitting with venues waiting for replies 🤞

We’re also looking a little more closely at what days work best for our families, what keeps trips affordable and, most importantly, what our young people actually want to do.

The less glamorous side of Let’s Go! 😂💻

For every trip you see us out enjoying, there’s a fair bit of this going on behind the scenes first…emails, bookings, funding applications, invoices, risk assessments, phone calls and trying to make all the pieces fit 😅

It’s not quite as exciting as theme parks and escape rooms, but it’s the bit that makes all of those days possible 💜

A lot goes on behind the scenes of a little organisation like ours…and we wouldn’t have it any other way 🙌

💜 More than just a day out…

From the outside, a Let’s Go! Mcr trip might just look like a group of young people heading off somewhere fun for the day.

But there’s usually a lot more going on than that…

…It can be the young person who arrives knowing nobody and gradually finds their place in the group. The one who normally struggles socially but starts forming friendships. The one who tries something they never thought they’d have the confidence to do. Or simply someone getting a day where they can relax, have fun and feel like they belong.

Our young people are all different. Some are neurodivergent, some find friendships difficult and some just need a little help getting out there and finding their people.

We’re not expecting everyone to step onto the bus full of confidence. That’s kind of the point 💛

Give them time, the right environment, familiar faces and a few shared adventures and you’d be amazed at what starts to happen.

That’s what Let’s Go! Mcr is really about. 🙌💜
