📣 WFMC Brand Notice

🚨 Clarification on WFMC Leadership & Trademark Rights 🚨

Over the past few years, we’ve kept a low public profile as WFMC underwent important internal transitions and brand protection efforts.

While we’ve continued to sanction shows and support fighters on the ground, we’ve also had to deal with an attempted takeover of the WFMC name — despite a formal handover and constitution-backed leadership change that took place in 2020.

We’ve now secured the UK trademark for WFMC and filed an official EUIPO invalidity action against a conflicting registration submitted by a former associate.

✅ WFMC has been under the sole leadership of Wayne Edwards since 2020
✅ The transition was ratified by our World Assembly and recorded in our Constitution (v1.3)
✅ Our legal rights are supported by ongoing operations, brand investment, and media control

🛡️ As of now, we are placing all venues, organisers, and partners on notice that unauthorised use of the WFMC name is not permitted.

This is about protecting the brand and ensuring our fighters and clubs are not misled or caught in confusion.

Official Statement Regarding WFMC Events and Ownership

It has come to my attention that Isa Akkus has publicly alleged that the upcoming WFMC event is “fake.” Let me set the record straight:
1. I am the rightful and legal owner of the WFMC trademark in the United Kingdom, registered under UK00003905157. My ownership has been confirmed by the UK Intellectual Property Office and predates Isa Akkus’s European filing.
2. In 2020, Isa Akkus officially handed over the WFMC organisation to me due to health concerns and a decline in the brand’s credibility. This was confirmed during a world Zoom meeting and formalised in the WFMC Constitution, which names me as the World President .
3. I have since invested heavily in building the WFMC into a credible, international organisation, hosting the 2016 World Championships, the 2023 European Championships, and the upcoming global events—all fully legitimate and sanctioned.
4. Instagram rejected Isa Akkus’s copyright complaint against our official page, recognising our rightful ownership and use of the WFMC brand .
5. Allegations that our events are fake are not only false but may be legally defamatory. All WFMC events are genuine, legally compliant, and internationally recognised.

I was informed by that Rick Dubidat is claiming to be the WFMC Great Britain president. However, the rights to WFMC are owned by me, and I hold the original copyright. You can verify this by checking the records at WFMCHQ.com. We’ll see how the case plays out in the tribunals regarding their claims, but as of now, I remain the copyright owner, which can be confirmed with the UK IPO. The double dealing Isa Akkus also attempted to reclaim the association unlawfully. I’m surprised at the lengths Rick Dubidat is going to after we parted ways in 2018. The last time I heard from him his mistress and his wife took me off Facebook and thought they had all moved on.
