Welcome to the daily free tour of Manchester in English. We include the well-known attractions as well as the lesser known quirks - always led by native Mancunions, we offer the perfect introduction to this incredible city for tourists, students and locals alike.
We run Every Day at 11am from the Alan Turing Memorial (Sackville Gardens, M1 3HB). The #1 rated Tour in Manchester is approximately 3-hours in length (including a 15 minute break), and are always led by experienced Mancunian guides! We run in all weather. They are in the English language. Booking is not necessary. Tips are invited by the guide at the end, but you will never be pressured to tip. Please check our Facebook for cancellations.

WHAT:
Free Manchester Walking Tours is the most comprehensive and entertaining introduction to the city of Manchester (#1 Tour in Manchester, TripAdvisor). They are also a great way to meet new people. These tours aim to tell the story of Manchester.
WHY:
These tours are run on a tips-only basis. Free Manchester Walking Tours is an independent tour established by Josh, last September. We believe everyone should be able to discover Manchester, no matter what their budget. We receive no financial subsidy or support. I invite visitors to tip at the end of the tour, should they wish to show their appreciation!
WHEN:
Every Day.
Start Time: 11am.
Length: 3 - 3.5 hours. (including 15-min break)
Only attend if you intend to join for the entire tour.

Begin: Alan Turing Memorial, Sackville Gardens, opposite Chez Cafe near Canal Street. (Postcode M1 3BH)
End: Exchange Square, opposite Oyster Pub near the National Football Museum. (postcode M3 1BD)

We do not run on Christmas Day or New Years Day.
ACCESSIBILITY:
These tours are only in the English language. El tour es solo en inglés.
The tour is wheelchair accessible.
I always try my best to accommodate other needs (eg hearing/medical) just message me beforehand, or let me know at the beginning of the tour.
Anyone of any age is welcome on the tour; our youngest guest so far has been 2 weeks old, and the oldest 89. Please note, there is a small reference to drug use, and I use one expletive!
Dogs are more than welcome.

Manchester is renowned for rain! And ours tours run in ALL weather: an umbrella, a waterproof coat and perhaps shoes with a little grip recommended.

In our tours we talk about two different periods of Manchester's history: the industrial era, and the post-industrial 'Mad-chester' era. We take in the big attractions (Town Hall, Royal Exchange and Free Trade Hall) as well as the lesser known quirks (Vimto Monument, Underground Manchester and Factory Records).
