For me, the festivities are mainly about the Pagan origins of the season, the Mid-winter festival of light. With holly and trees, food and frolics, we celebrate nature’s resilience. These last couple of weeks I have been opening my eyes to the colours of our English Indian Summer. I’ve found myself playing the role of the professional Bohemian; writing poetry in the sunshine, wandering canal paths with camera in hand, and letting my spirit connect with the magical sunlight.
