Public Health England has issued a report which shows an overall increase of 5.7% in imported malaria infections reported in the UK in 2014 (1,586 compared to 1,501 in 2013).

The best way to prevent malaria is to follow the ABCD of malaria prevention:
• be Aware,
• use Bite avoidance measures,
• take Chemoprophylaxis (preventive antimalarial tablets),
• seek prompt Diagnosis if you develop a fever during or after travel.

WHY USE US?

Most people are aware that vaccinations are recommended for travel to certain foreign countries, but who’s going to give you the right advice? Your travel agent? Your tour operator? Possibly but this advice is often not based on current, up to date guidance. Their main priority is to offer you a varied range of travel destinations and sell you a holiday, not provide travel health advice. The travel agent may not be fully aware of the disease risks in many of these countries and the vaccinations which are recommended, and we advise that you consult one of our travel health advisers before you travel.

Your GP or practice nurse may be able to provide this service for you. However sometimes it can be difficult to access an appointment within the required timeframe.

At Travel Imms we provide qualified, expert advice in administering travel injections. The benefits of using our service include:

Last minute travellers accommodated
Vaccines available at highly competitive prices
Advice on appropriate recommended anti-malarials
Provision of prescription only anti-malarial medication
We are a designated Yellow Fever Centre
We welcome all ages, including children
