Butwal City Butwal (Nepali: बुटवल) is a large town in southern Nepal in Rupandehi District, in Lumbini Butwal is a major gateway to Nepal.

It is located 240 kilometres west of Kathmandu and 22 kilometers north of Bhairahawa, at the northern edge of the Terai plain below the Siwalik Hills. Its name is derived from Batauli Bazaar in the town's oldest district. Through highway and air links, Butwal connects western Nepal to the capital Kathmandu. It has highway connections to the Indian Border at Sunauli [2] and to hill towns Tansen and

Pokhara. Hindus in the majority celebrate Holi, Teej, Maha Shivratri, Dashain, Tihar and Bhai Tika. Many Paharis go to their native villages during the month from Dashain through Tihar and the town becomes nearly deserted. There are also Muslims of Terai origin. There is a very good and harmonious relationship among different religious and ethinic community.

सरकारले नयाँ आर्थिक ऐनमार्फत राइड सेयरिङ सेवासम्बन्धी नियम कडा बनाएको छ। अबदेखि रातो नम्बर प्लेट भएका मोटरसाइकल तथा स्कुटरले राइड सेयरिङ सेवा सञ्चालन गर्न नपाउने व्यवस्था गरिएको छ। राइड सेयरिङ सञ्चालन गर्न सवारी साधनलाई कानुनी रूपमा दर्ता गरी कालो नम्बर प्लेट (भाडाका सवारी प्रणाली) अन्तर्गत ल्याउनुपर्नेछ।
यो निर्णयलाई सरकारले यातायात क्षेत्रलाई व्यवस्थित, कर प्रणालीमा ल्याउने र सुरक्षा मापदण्ड सुनिश्चित गर्ने प्रयासका रूपमा लिएको छ।
तर, यसबीचमा ट्याक्सी व्यवसायीहरूले कालो नम्बर प्लेट तथा अनुमति प्रक्रियामा लागत धेरै भएको भन्दै लामो समयदेखि गुनासो गर्दै आएका थिए, जसले यो नीतिगत परिवर्तनमा केही प्रभाव पारेको अनुमान गरिएको छ।
सरल भाषामा भन्नुपर्दा, अब राइड सेयरिङ सेवा पूर्ण रूपमा कानुनी दायरामा ल्याइँदैछ र सबै सवारी साधन एउटै नियमन प्रणालीमा समेटिने भएका छन्।
