Manchester's Southern Cemetery is the final resting place of many interesting characters from the city's past. The artist L S Lowry is one such individual who was interred here. Lowry was buried with his parents and the inscription which remembers him is actually located on the side of the headstone. However, a pot full of paintbrushes, mirrors and other art materials which have been left there by the public takes centre stage at this monument- a testament to how loved his work is.
