Hope Valley Climate Action have 40 fantastic artists participating across 13 venues within walking distance of train stations between and . Artists will be showcasing their work, providing demonstrations, and delivering workshops and activities.

Leave the car at home and hop on and off at any of the participating stations, or explore the valley using the local bus services. It’s a brilliant way to enjoy the beauty of the valley at a gentler pace, cutting carbon while supporting local artists and small businesses along the route.

Manchester’s musical history, reimagined!

Writer, historian, and artist Paul Wilde joins us in the Manchester Histories Hub for the opening of his new exhibition, The Manchester Pop Trail.

What began as a long-running column in the Manchester Evening News has grown into a collection of illustrations and ceramics, bringing Paul's research to life in a new medium.

Paul’s work asks us to consider how Manchester's musical legacy can be preserved and celebrated, making the case for a permanent Manchester Music Museum for future generations.

📅 Exhibition opening: Thursday 3 September, 6–8pm. The exhibition runs from 3–24 September.
📍 Manchester Histories Hub, Manchester Central Library.

MANCHESTER WALKING TOURS: This autumn, we've teamed up with award-winning Blue Badge Guide Jonathan Schofield Tours for three new walking tours exploring some of the city’s richest cultural histories.

A long-standing chronicler of Manchester, Schofield has written several books on the North West and received the University of Manchester Medal of Honour for his contribution to the city and region.

The trio of routes covers Manchester’s world-famous musical legacy, its bold post-war flirtation with Brutalism, and the writers, filmmakers and cultural figures who have made the city a recurring character on page and screen, with plenty of stories and unexpected connections along the way.
