We support a number of people who have fled domestic abuse via our training programme to bring hope and change lives. We want to highlight that a little love can bring about a big change and having friends to journey with you can help develop you.........if you wish to be part of our journey in helping to build lives, get in touch with us. ent, painting and decorating skills, driving a van, fundraising, etc...the list is endless. Please ring us before you plan to visit us as we may be engaged in training.

ITV’s four part drama Believe Me is available to watch on ITV1 began on Sunday 10 May at 9pm on ITV1, with further episodes expected on 11, 17 and 18 May.

The full series is also available to stream now on ITVX.

‘Believe Me’ tells the story of the legal battle by two survivors to hold the police and parole board to account.

It also tells the story of a third survivor, Carrie Symonds, who backed the two survivors in their successful challenge of the parole board decision to release him. Solicitor Harriet Wistrich, now CEO of Centre for Women’s Justice (CWJ) worked together with Phillippa Kaufmann KC to bring the two precedent breaking legal cases which have now created a legacy for such future legal cases aimed at holding police and other state bodies accountable.

ITV’s four-part drama Believe Me tells the true story of women r***d by taxi driver John Worboys and the determination it took to be heard, to stop further harm, and to secure accountability when serious failures followed their reports.

The first episode airs this Sunday (10 May) at 9pm on ITV1 (with further episodes expected on 11, 17 and 18 May).

Believe Me tells the true story of two survivors of Worboys, ‘Sarah’ and ‘Laila’[1] , who brought a legal action against the Metropolitan Police arising from multiple failures to conduct an effective investigation into their reports of drug assisted r**e. The story follows their journey from being ensnared by Worboys, waking up to discover they had been violated and then reporting the crime. It follows the everyday harrowing experience of reporting r**e and the procedures most victims have to undergo. It shows their awful treatment by the police whose scepticism blinded them to a dangerous predator left free to continue offending on an industrial scale.

The drama also follows the story of how the two women, confronted with an inexplicable Parole Board decision to release Worboys after a relatively short period of imprisonment, then brought a second unprecedented legal challenge to judicially review the decision to release him.

We want to say a big thank you to our volunteers. Today there were 12 volunteers volunteering giving the charity shop a buzz. Somedays there are only 2 which shows how multi tasking and able they are when faced with so many jobs to do. Thank you for all you do in the following areas:
1. Food club:, sorting the food products, making sure food is rotated, checking dates and hygiene stds, preparing food parcels, driving to drop the parcels,
2. Van assistants: doing collections and deliveries,
3. Charity shop: helping and serving customers, sorting stock upstairs, updating window display and creating designs, ironing clothes
4. Peer support: helping see referrals, setting the room for training, supporting the training and mentoring
5. Maintenance: making sure shop and rooms are tidied, swept and mopped
6. Admin: designing leaflets, making videos, accounts support, web support
7. Pat testing: checking electricals
8. Various diy jobs!
9. ...the list is endless!
