Last week I was extremely privileged to be invited onboard the inaugural 4 day sailing of Oceania Allura around Italy.

Oceania Cruises have always been renowned for their culinary offerings and is known for as โ€˜The Cruise for Foodiesโ€™. However with their latest ships Vista and the new Allura they are certainly ranked amongst the luxury cruise lines.

The cabins and suites ooze style and comfort with premium linens and the plushest of towels, all welcomed with a bottle of fizz ๐Ÿฅ‚

The pool offers plenty of luxury padded sunloungers to enjoy the sun. The spa offers it own outdoor area and thermal pools and there are plenty of bars and lounges to relax indoors. There is a large gym with regular classes, a tech classroom running IT and photography classes and its own high end culinary school. Thereโ€™s nightly entertainment with their own show team and bands around the ship.

The Grand Dining Room is stunning and the menus offer numerous choices changing each evening and served to perfection. The speciality restaurants include the Polo Grill, Toscana, Jacques and Red Ginger, plus more casual dining in The Terrace, Waves or Aquamare. Each one serving top quality fresh options.

๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ทOur fabulous TC Turkey tour last week finished with our final night on a tradional gulet boat sailing out of Fetiye. These were really popular in the 80s and 90s where you could spend a whole week onboard. Nowadays most use them for a few nights or even a day trip.

They are a fabulous way to explore the coastline. For us it was a fantastic end to a hectic week of exploration and adventure. Great food, gorgeous swims and a few farewell drinks. ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท

Pamukkale means Cotton Castles and is a stunning landscape of calcite rock pools and Roman ruins in western Turkey. You can no longer swim in the pools only paddle but still spectacular. Beware this is a real sun trap and temperatures soared to over 40 degrees ๐Ÿฅต

On Sunday evening we were hosted by a local family and their very cute kittens who showed us their vegetable garden and gave us a cooking demonstration and gorgeous meal made with their own fresh ingredients. We enjoyed freshly baked bread, dips, yoghurt soup and baked aubergines. All followed by being kitted out in traditional headwear and local music and dancing ๐Ÿ’ƒ

The 3 main towns in Cappadocia are Goreme, Uchisar and Urgup, all within a 15 minute radius and close to the amazing rock formations and cave houses.
We explored Zelve and Goreme open air museums, Devrent Valley and Pasabagi with itโ€™s incredible ph***ic shaped columns ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿคฃ
Then we climbed up to the top of Uchisar Castle, a bit of a challenge but well worth it for the stunning views around the valleys.
Thereโ€™s so much to see and experience in this region besides the balloon rides, horse riding, quad bikes or hire a car to explore at your leisure.
