Why people get multi-centre trips wrong
I love a good multi-centre trip.
Done well, they can give you completely different experiences in one holiday.
Done badly… they can leave you feeling like you’ve spent more time in airports than on holiday.
The biggest mistake I see is trying to fit too much in.
Three nights here.
Two nights there.
Another flight.
Another hotel.
It sounds exciting when you’re planning it, but it can quickly become exhausting.
The second mistake is choosing destinations that are too similar.
If every stop offers the same beaches, same atmosphere and same experiences, you’re not really gaining anything by moving around.
The best multi-centres usually have contrast.
A city and a beach.
A safari and the coast.
A cruise and a few nights exploring beforehand.
And finally, the route matters.
The easiest trips are usually the ones that flow naturally rather than doubling back on themselves or squeezing in unnecessary flights.
For me, a good multi-centre should feel effortless while you’re travelling it.
Not like hard work.
