Vietnam is one of those destinations that feels completely different to anything else.

It is the contrast between busy cities and quiet landscapes. The food, the culture, and the small everyday moments that you do not expect.

For many travellers, that is what makes it so memorable.🐧✈

If Vietnam is on your list, I am always happy to help you plan it properly.

What a 2-week Vietnam itinerary actually looks like.

Vietnam is one of those destinations that can feel difficult to piece together, especially when travelling from the UK.

But when it is structured properly, the journey flows naturally from north to south, combining cities, landscapes and cultural experiences in a way that feels balanced rather than rushed.

From Hanoi and Lan Ha Bay, through central Vietnam and down to the Mekong Delta, it is the contrast that makes the trip.🐧✈

If you are thinking about Vietnam and not sure how to structure it, I am always happy to chat things through.

What does a well-planned Vietnam itinerary actually look like?

This is a great example of how a 2-week trip to Vietnam can flow when it is put together properly.

Starting in Hanoi, with its street food, markets and energy, before heading to Ha Long Bay to cruise through the limestone karsts.

From there, moving through central Vietnam to Hue and Hoi An, combining history, culture and a slower pace, before finishing in the south with Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.

It is the contrast that makes a trip like this work so well. Busy cities, quieter landscapes, cultural experiences and time to take it all in.

For families or couples travelling from the UK, Vietnam is one of those destinations that can feel overwhelming to plan, but when it is structured properly, it becomes a really rewarding and memorable journey.🐧✈

If Vietnam is on your list and you are not sure how to structure it, I am always happy to talk it through. You can enquire at www.rockhopperholidays.com or call on 01625 708484.

Throwback Thursday – Corfu, Greece

There has been quite a bit in the press recently about potential delays at European borders this summer, particularly around the new EES system.

Greece has announced it will suspend the introduction over the peak summer period, which should help keep things running more smoothly.

It is a good reminder that, despite the headlines, places like Greece remain one of the easiest and most enjoyable options for a family holiday.

I have always loved Greece. Many of my childhood holidays were spent sailing around the Ionian islands, and it is a destination we keep going back to.

This particular trip was to Ikos Dassia in Corfu, which is a great example of how you can combine a relaxed, all-inclusive stay with the chance to explore a bit more of the island.

Corfu itself is a lovely place to spend time. The old town is beautiful, with narrow streets, pastel buildings and plenty of places to stop for food. There are also some great beaches and quieter corners if you venture a little further.

One of the things Ikos does particularly well is making it easy to get out and explore. You can take a car for the day, and they will even pack a picnic for you, which makes it feel very relaxed rather than something you have to organise.

Back at the hotel, everything is taken care of, which works especially well when travelling with children.

For families looking for something straightforward, but still special, Greece is still very hard to beat.🐧✈

A lot of people book their holiday and still feel unsure.

Hoping they have made the right decision.
Hoping it lives up to what they saw online.

It should not feel like that.

When you’ve had the right advice, you know it is right before you even leave.✈✈🐧🐧🐧🐧✈🐧✈🐧🐧✈

You are not bad at planning travel.

It is just a lot to try and figure out on your own.

The right resort, the right room, the right location, and making sure it all fits within budget.

That is what I take care of.

So instead of second guessing everything, you can just look forward to the trip knowing it has all been thought through.

Throwback Thursday – Japan, Stop 6: Osaka (Part 2)

Back to Osaka, but this time for something completely different - Universal Studios Japan.

We stayed at the Minion-themed hotel, which was a lot of fun and a great way to finish the holiday.

Universal Studios was definitely a highlight, especially Super Nintendo World. It is one of those places that really does feel as good as it looks, but it is busy. Very busy.

We booked fast passes, and honestly, I would not do it without them. It made a huge difference to the day and meant we could actually enjoy it rather than spending most of the time in queues.

Fun fact - we went on my birthday, and this is also being posted on my birthday, which means we must have been there exactly two years to the day!

This is the kind of stop that works really well as part of a wider itinerary. A few days of something high-energy like this, balanced with calmer experiences elsewhere.

That mix is what made the whole trip work so well for us.🐧✈

Five star reviews only tell part of the story.

What really matters is how the holiday actually works once you are there, and whether it suits your family properly.

That is usually the part that is hardest to figure out on your own.
