The cruise departs from Ravenna, Italy. If you have flights from your local airport to Bologna, I would actually suggest considering flying to Bologna and then travelling to Ravenna, which may be more convenient than flying to Venice.
The itinerary begins with two of Croatia’s most historic cities, Dubrovnik and Split, before sailing into the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro, where you can enjoy spectacular scenery surrounded by mountains, with views that look almost like a fjord. 🌊

One of Croatia’s most famous historic cities, with ancient city walls, red-roofed buildings and beautiful blue sea views. The whole city has a very cinematic atmosphere and is a must-visit for many people travelling to Croatia.
🇭🇷 Split, Croatia
Split is home to historic Roman remains, including Diocletian’s Palace, as well as a beautiful waterfront promenade filled with Mediterranean atmosphere. It’s a great place to enjoy both history and the relaxed feeling of a seaside city.
🇲🇪 Kotor, Montenegro
As the ship sails into the Bay of Kotor, you’ll be surrounded by mountains and spectacular scenery that looks almost like a fjord. It’s a destination that many people living in the UK may not visit independently, but it’s very easy to explore as part of a cruise. 😍
The itinerary then continues to Italy, first visiting Messina in Sicily, where you can experience the island’s Mediterranean culture, followed by Salerno, the gateway to the world-famous Amalfi Coast.

One of my favourite parts of this itinerary is the fact that the ship stays in La Spezia for two consecutive days! 🇮🇹
With more time available, you can travel from here to Florence to explore Renaissance art and historic landmarks, or visit Pisa and see the famous Leaning Tower.
Having two days in port makes the visit much easier to arrange than a typical one-day stop, and you won’t have to rush everything before returning to the ship.
The cruise will finally arrive at the port serving Rome, bringing this Mediterranean journey from the Adriatic Sea to the west coast of Italy to a perfect end.
In 12 days, you’ll visit Italy, Croatia and Montenegro, including Dubrovnik, Split, Kotor, Sicily, the Amalfi Coast and Portofino, with the opportunity to explore famous cities such as Florence and Pisa.
