So last week we talked about natural ways of inducing labour including

💜Walking
💜Dates
💜Sex
💜Birthing Ball
💜Nipple Stimulation

So here we are with part 2.

💜Reflexology
💜Aromatherapy
💜Acupuncture
💜Acupressure

With all of the above please do seek professional advice or see a professional to carry out the treatment.

With my second daughter I was 8 days over due and had acupuncture with the wonderful used clary sage oil, bounced lots on my birth ball, went for a walk and did lots of lovely relaxation.

She was born the next morning and although i’m not entirely sure one which worked I’m pretty sure it was the acupuncture!

With baby number 3 I was going for regular reflexology with and it definitely aided my relaxation. Luckily I didn’t need any help getting labour started as everywhere was shut due to Covid.

Have you used any of these to induce labour?

I honestly believe that birth can be a positive experience when approached with the right mindset.

If you want to have a positive experience then you need to spend some time focusing on practicing positivity.

💜 Although you may have things to moan about during pregnancy try to focus on the positives.

💜 Surround yourself with people who talk about birth in a positive manner.

💜 Try not to listen to negative birth stories.

💜 Listen to your birth affirmations and make positive thoughts about birth a habit of your thinking.

💜 Focus on the excitement of getting to meet your baby at the end of your pregnancy.

As we said on Friday only 4% of babies arrive on their due date!

You are classed as full term from 37-42 weeks so technically aren’t considered overdue until 42 + 1!

Remember that your baby will arrive at the perfect time but there are lots of ways to give them a helping hand. I will be covering some of these as we go through the week.

Can you think of any? Comment below any that worked for you! 💜

Did you know that your jaw and your pelvis are physiologically connected and the relaxation of each deeply affects the other. 🤯

Some great tips to help let go of tension in your jaw.

1) Place your tongue gently behind your front upper teeth.

2) Breathing in long slow breaths through your nose will help to keep your jaw loose and relaxed.

3) Gently sighing can help to relax your throat and jaw.

4) Ask your birth partner to look out for signs of tension in your jaw and they can help you to breathe and relax your jaw.

Keeping your jaw relaxed will in turn keep your pelvis relaxed during labour and birth 💜
