Boating Update – Sunday 30 August: The sea state is better than anticipated, meaning the ferry boats will be running as normal this morning from 9:45 until the causeway opens.

The island will close at 15:00, with all visitors needing to leave on foot via the causeway by this time. 📢

Public announcement: no boating Sunday 30 August

Due to poor sea conditions, ferry boats will not be able to operate on Sunday 30 August. Access on and off the island will be on foot between 11:25-15:00.

The last entry to the castle will be at 13:45. If you have a ticket booked after 13:45, please arrive before the last entry.

If this means you can no longer visit, you can use your existing tickets before Friday 4th September and there is no need to rebook or let us know.

We are sorry if this means you cannot visit. Any tickets that are not used will be refunded in full automatically.

We are a tidal island that is governed by the forces of nature and sometimes those elements work against us. We hope to be able to welcome you onto St Michael’s Mount soon.

After an extraordinary 38 years, we are saying a fond farewell to Garry Earley, outgoing Head of Cornish Heritage Builders (CHB).

There has likely not been anyone in the past 150 years who have known the Castle and buildings of St Michael’s Mount so thoroughly as Garry. His craftsmanship can be seen all over the island.

Garry’s dedication, remarkable work ethic, creativity, and skill have left their mark everywhere. He undertook the extraordinary task of renovating the Castle, inside and out, more than 20 years ago, and has cared for and improved countless historic buildings ever since.

Under Garry’s leadership, CHB has become one of the most highly regarded heritage building companies in the industry. His legacy is a strong and thriving business, ready for its next exciting chapter.
