💐 MARCH Round Up ✈️
March has been a real mix of highs and lows, so I wanted to share a little “behind the scenes” of my life as a Travel Counsellor.
🔺 The tough bits:
The ongoing UAE crisis has impacted several of my clients. Two holidays have sadly been cancelled and refunded or are currently in the process. I only get paid when my clients travel, so for these trips I have not been paid for the time spent creating those itineraries and now processing their refunds. I do not like to talk about the “business” side of what I do, but the crisis has definitely made this month a strange one for me income‑wise.
💜 The wins that have kept me going:
✨ We saved an epic China & Japan adventure by re‑routing my clients. Instead of the original plan of flying with Emirates via Dubai, we switched their flights literally a few days before travel. They flew out to Shanghai via Amsterdam with KLM, and they will be returning home from Tokyo with Air France via Paris. These are such lovely clients of mine, and I am so pleased we managed to save their amazing trip.
✨ My clients heading to the Maldives in June now have a new plan: instead of flying with Emirates via Dubai, I have reshaped their itinerary and secured them new flights. They will now have a stopover in Kuala Lumpur, an extra night in the Maldives AND a direct flight home. More time in paradise, smoother journey back, definite win! 👌
💐 Other lovely March highlights:
☀️ My clients have been enjoying some spring sunshine in Egypt, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and that amazing China & Japan tour
✨ I have families about to head off over the next few weeks on a Norwegian Fjords cruise, Disneyland Paris and a Marella cruise from Barbados to Majorca
✈️ New bookings made: Vietnam & Cambodia for January 2027, South Africa over New Year, a special trip to Lefkada in September, a stay at the stunning Ikos Olivia in Halkidiki also in September, and a city break to Krakow in October.
✨ It has been a big month in my personal life:
🏡 We bought a house!
💜 My little Mila turned 7
🛝 After‑school park trips have returned
🐣 Lots of Easter crafts have taken place too
Travel is not always straightforward and sometimes the lows affect my earnings, but my priority will always be doing the right thing for my clients and protecting their holidays. I am so grateful for every booking, recommendation and message of support.
I will be working reduced hours from next week over the Easter half term, so if you are dreaming of a big bucket list trip or a much‑needed short break, drop me a message this week to start planning.
