🇨🇭 Harry visits Switzerland – what a trip!

I recently had the opportunity to visit Switzerland, starting in beautiful Lucerne before heading to Geneva for a few days of exploring.

There was plenty packed in, from a chocolate tasting tour and exploring the countryside by tuk-tuk with a spot of w**e tasting, to cruising on Lake Geneva and taking the cable car up Mont Salève for some incredible views.

One of the best parts was getting to experience it all alongside fellow travel agents, sharing ideas and discovering new experiences to bring back to our clients.

Geneva definitely surprised me with how much there is to do. It’s got a great mix of food, culture, scenery and some really unique experiences – definitely more than just a city break!

A big thank you to Switzerland Tourism, Geneva Tourism and Inghams for such a brilliant trip.

Kate’s Marrakech Escape!🇲🇦

My Husband and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary with a 5 night City Break to Marrakech, after hearing so many positive comments from Clients. We stayed in a small, authentic riad with open Courtyard to Beautiful blue skies. Tucked away near the busy souks and the Jemaa el-Fnaa square, it was the perfect base to experience this vibrant city. My husband did his best to keep me moving, past the temptations of amazing little shops and colourful markets.

The beautiful Le Jardin Secret gave us some calm and chill time from the hustle and bustle of the streets. The Majorelle Garden with its vibrant cobalt-blue buildings and the Bahia Palace are all worth visiting. The only thing I didn’t try was a Moroccan hammam, A Mum and Daughter I sent recently said it was relaxing and refreshing after their flight.

There are so many amazing Rooftop Restaurants to try while listening to the call to prayer. Try the famous Beef tagine With Apricots, yum….

A trip to the Atlas Mountains was worth the money, you really are spoilt for choice but visiting the all-women’s oil and perfumery place was really interesting. I am enjoying the Argan Massage oil.

Our Anniversary treat was the sunrise hot-air balloon ride, followed by breakfast.. The feeling of rising in the air with around 55 other Balloons, The Atlas Mountains as the backdrop, under the morning light is something we will never forget.

Final Day – Cambodia 🇰🇭

Our final day in Cambodia took us out onto the vast waters of Tonlé Sap, where we witnessed the unique way of life of the lake’s fishing communities.

With floating homes, boats and daily life shaped entirely by the water, it was fascinating to see a completely different side of Cambodia and how closely life here is connected to the lake.

From there, we returned to Siem Reap for our final evening, bringing our Cambodian adventure to a memorable close.

What an incredible few days exploring the temples, history and culture of Cambodia. Another unforgettable part of our journey, and somewhere that we will look back on with fond memories.

Days 1 & 2 – Cambodia 🇰🇭

Leaving Vietnam behind, we continued our journey into Cambodia to discover the breathtaking temples of Angkor.

We entered through the magnificent South Gate of Angkor Thom, the ancient walled city, before venturing into the jungle-clad ruins of Ta Prohm. This was one of those places that feels almost lost in time — and of course, we had to recreate the famous Tomb Raider photograph!

We continued to Pre Rup, before coming face to face with the enigmatic stone faces of the Bayon. It was an unforgettable glimpse into a world of ancient temples, kings and extraordinary craftsmanship.

And then there was Angkor Wat.

This breathtaking masterpiece of Khmer architecture is one of the world’s most extraordinary ancient monuments. Built in the 12th century, its vast galleries, soaring lotus-bud towers and intricate bas-reliefs rise dramatically above the surrounding moat.

Standing in front of Angkor Wat, surrounded by centuries of history, was truly an unforgettable experience — and without doubt one of the highlights of our journey so far.

Day 8 – Ha Long Bay

Today we travelled to the spectacular Ha Long Bay and boarded our cruise amongst the limestone islands and emerald waters.

The scenery was simply breathtaking, with hundreds of dramatic limestone karsts rising from the sea. Sitting back on board and watching the landscape change around us was a truly memorable experience.

For me, this has been one of the highlights of the trip so far. There is something very special about seeing Ha Long Bay from the water, and it certainly lived up to everything I had imagined.

A wonderful day and another unforgettable experience in Vietnam. 🇻🇳

Day 7 – Hanoi

Today we arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam’s vibrant capital city.

Our day began with a cycle ride through the Old Quarter, taking in the busy streets and getting a feel for the wonderful atmosphere of the city.

We then visited Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, before heading to one of Hanoi’s most famous sights — Train Street!

Watching the train pass through the narrow street, just metres from the surrounding cafés and buildings, was quite an experience. It certainly lived up to its reputation!

Another fantastic day of exploring, and beautiful Hanoi has already made quite an impression.

Day 5/6 – The Journey to Hue

Our journey to Hue took us through Da Nang and across the spectacular Hai Van Pass, with some beautiful views along the way. We also crossed the famous Dragon Bridge in Da Nang before continuing north.

Arriving in Hue, we spent time exploring the magnificent Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City, learning more about the history of the Nguyen Dynasty and the emperors who once lived here.

The scale and architecture of the Citadel were incredible, with beautiful gates, courtyards and buildings to discover. Another fascinating day and another part of Vietnam that has been wonderful to explore.

Day 4 – Hoi An

Today we explored the beautiful ancient town of Hoi An, which was real highlight of our Vietnam journey so far!

We wandered through the colourful streets and local markets, taking in the wonderful atmosphere and stopping to admire the famous Japanese Covered Bridge, one of Hoi An’s most recognisable landmarks.

As the evening arrived, Hoi An became even more magical. The streets and river came alive with colourful lanterns, beautifully lit up against the night sky.

There was such a lovely atmosphere throughout the old town — bustling markets, lanterns everywhere and the most beautiful little corners to discover.

A wonderful day and an evening we certainly won’t forget. 🇻🇳✨

Day 3 – The Mekong Delta

Today we left the busy streets of Ho Chi Minh City behind and headed into the beautiful Mekong Delta, often described as Vietnam’s ‘rice bowl’.

We began our journey along the Mekong by boat before transferring to a traditional sampan, travelling along the smaller waterways surrounded by lush greenery and coconut palms. It was a wonderful way to see a completely different side of Vietnam and get a glimpse of life along the river.

The Delta is such a fascinating region, with its fertile countryside, waterways, fruit orchards and local villages. It was lovely to slow down and take in the scenery along the way.

Another fantastic day of exploring, and another very different experience to add to our Vietnamese adventure. 🇻🇳
