You are invited to the bicentenary celebrations of Middleton Top Winding Engine. For one time only, 2 Fowler Ploughing Traction Engines, (provided by Portobello Engineering Ltd) will connect steam to the cylinders and power the engine on steam for the first time in decades.
See the world’s oldest beam engine of its type in action during this fun filled weekend. Discover how it pulled wagons up and down steep hills on one of the world’s first long distance railways.

Directions: From the A6 at Cromford, climb the B5036 and follow the signs
