Available for shorts breaks throughout the year. Our aim is for Derwent House to offer a ‘home from home’ experience where a large group of people can come to escape, relax and unwind in luxury surroundings. To provide this, the house is well equipped and has good facilities for large groups so that guests enjoy the time they spend here.

“Derwent House was a perfect place for our family stay in Matlock. We had a lovely stay with a great base to explore the Peaks. As we were there during the heat spike the house was perfect — beautifully cool during the heat of the day. Good access to the centre of Matlock and places to walk around the town.
We cooked for ourselves most of the time, however we did enjoy takeaway fish and chips from the Matlock Fish Bar and a delicious afternoon tea at the Orangery at St Elfin’s Park. We had good service from Tesco and Sainsbury’s deliveries. We walked, ran and cycled around the area. The house is adjacent to the local park and given the hot weather the water park — mostly children — was great for our granddaughter. Further afield, Dovedale is lovely as well as Bakewell.”

We’re always delighted when families make the most of everything Matlock and the Peak District have to offer — and it’s wonderful to know Derwent House provided the perfect base for their stay.

We were delighted to read this lovely feedback from recent guests at Derwent House, Matlock. They enjoyed a fantastic stay with us — helped along by some beautiful Derbyshire sunshine.

They made the most of our brilliant location too. The walk from Matlock to the Heights of Abraham is always a favourite, and they described it as stunning with plenty to enjoy at the top. They also spent a full day exploring the Chatsworth gardens, which they found to be great value and the perfect way to enjoy the good weather.

Today marks the 75th Birthday of the Peak District National Park Established on the 17th April 1951 it became the United Kingdoms first National Park and covers 555 miles. With its famous hills and peaks, dales and caves there ie lots to explore and experience. So why not book a stay here in Derbyshire and the Peak District.
