The Courtyard at Cloncaird Castle Estate encompasses four of our self catering cottages, Coach, Stables, Groom’s and Tack Cottage. Coach House Cottage, one of our most popular cottages, located within the original stable block and sharing an open courtyard with three other cottages. Coach benefits from open plan living area, log burning fire, under floor heating, large windows and two double bedrooms both with en-suite

Stables Cottage is delightfully bright and spacious. There is an open plan kitchen, family dining area and comfortable sitting area with log burning fire. Upstairs there are two spacious bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities.

Tack-Room Cottage, a beautiful cottage for four guests and don’t forget your pets are welcome too. Tack-Room has large windows looking out to the shared courtyard and allowing the sunlight to warm the large sitting room. It also benefits from an open fire for those colder nights.

Gardeners Cottage, a delightful cottage full of original features, spacious but still cosy. Originally built and occupied by the estate gardener this cottage benefits from an open log fire in the cosy sitting room, dining and kitchen area and two spacious bedrooms.

The River Walk at Cloncaird Castle Estate, this walk allows you to explore all the Estate has to offer with views of the Castle, farm animals grazing in the fields, follow the river downstream and see if you can see a fish jump, then pass through the woodland where the deer range. Be aware that this path takes you through all types of terrain, steep slopes up and down, muddy patches, steps, gravel and paved areas. One not to be missed for those who like to explore nature!

Burnside Cottage set a slight distance from the rest of the cottages on the estate Burnside provides a perfect family space and with an enclosed rear lawn it’s perfect for pets too. All of our cottages are pet friendly and we have a dedicated Dog run on the estate to help them burn off a little more energy.

Cloncaird Castle and Cottages

Cloncaird Castle is in beautiful Ayrshire countryside near to the villages of Kirkmichael and Straiton, and just ten miles from Ayr. Parts of the castle date back to the 16th century and it is steeped in fascinating history. The cottages date back over 100 years and are built of either granite or sandstone and four of them are gathered around a central courtyard.

Castle’s award-winning Atrium Venue is open to host private and corporate events and weddings in 2020 along with eight lovely Holiday Cottages.

These self-catering properties are all newly refurbished and modernised, and available to rent all year round. Cloncaird Castle Cottages are set within a 140 acre estate, with extensive gardens, woodland and romantic riverside walks.

All the holiday cottages are individually styled. Sleeping from 2-6 people, each beautiful cottage seamlessly combines boutique and stylish interior design with comfort and space. The holiday cottages feature flat screen TV, DVD player, double glazing, underfloor heating and fitted kitchen with dishwasher. Some also have open log fires.
