Another reason to stay at The New Stables is the well known Melbourne Festival in September. Within walking distance so no need to struggle to park in the village.

Well worth a visit - lots of artists, potters, weavers, jewellery makers, glass artists. Street food and many more attractions.

Parklands and Woodlands Route: Take in the stunning views and historic houses as you pass Staunton Harold Reservoir, Calke Abbey, Ticknall Limeyards, and Robin Wood. Keep an eye out for new wildlife from swans and ducks to red deer and great crested grebe.

Distance: 5.4 miles (8.7km)
This route includes stiles and is unsuitable for wheelchairs.
