Rosslyn Glamping

Rosslyn Glamping A small woodland glamping site in North Norfolk with three shepherd's huts and a boat. The swimming

We have lived at Rosslyn with our three sons and various pets, since 2005. When we bought Rosslyn it was a fairly run down bungalow which Andrew has transformed into a beautiful house. Andrew has done most of the work himself and in 2015 he felt he needed a break from the renovations so he decided to create a shepherd's hut. We have about 6 acres of woodland with our house and thought that it would be a good idea to have a couple of glamping units.

We've been out testing a new cake and coffee venue for you all. Herbie's Cafe at Salle Moor Hall Farm outside Reepham.

Some of you are aware that Andrew and I have been working in North Wales over the winter, in fact, we are still here on and off until the summer holidays begin. We’ve been working on a house that I inherited, with my sister from our parents, When finished it will be used as a holiday let. It will be listed on holidaycottages.co.uk, there is a basic listing on there at the moment (https://www.holidaycottages.co.uk/cottage/oc-29818-clogwyn-melyn) – excuse the over the top description! There are no photos of finished rooms but here are some pictures of nearly finished rooms etc to give an idea. It will have 8 bedrooms, 3 double, 1 king size, and then 3 single beds and an adult sized bunk bed (sleeping 14). 6 bathrooms, a games room, kitchen, utility room, living room and dining room. There is a large grassed garden and parking for lots of cars. It is situated on the estuary opposite Portmeirion and Porthmadog with Harlech only 3 miles down the coast. If anyone has any questions we would be happy to answer them.

For those of you who knew Michael, the campsite boss, we are sorry to say that he died this morning. He was due to set off on his 5th trip to Wales but we've had to go without him. He will leave a big hole in our lives

I love these first signs of Spring. We always have a mass of snowdrops on the verge at the front of our house and they are coming through. Now I have planted some on the car park bank by the toilet block and some are coming through there. Primroses do well here and we have some of those appearing. Daffodils are pushing through on the lawn by Goosewing, they always make a wonderful show. However those naughty deer have been munching what might have been bluebell leaves. Is this the year that our front garden gets its new makeover?

We are looking forward to opening up again in April and to meeting our lovely visitors. Some of you know that we're spending the winter working on a property in North Wales. This is unlikely to be finished by the time we re-open so we will probably close again in September in order to get it finished. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones

If you're out on the beach between Bacton and Sea Palling, you may come across a strange discovery!
A Deep History Detective community project run by Pathways to Ancient Britain is examining how artefacts move along the Deep History Coast – how far they move and over what timeframe. And so, bright pink numbered stones have been placed along this stretch of coastline. If you come across one, please record the location using the CITiZAN app. Once you’ve recorded the location, please leave the replica on the beach so its journey can continue to be tracked! Our Story

We have lived at Rosslyn with our three sons and various pets, since 2005. When we bought Rosslyn it was a fairly run down bungalow which Andrew has transformed into a beautiful house. Andrew has done most of the work himself and last autumn he felt he needed a break from the renovations so he decided to create a shepherd's hut. We have about 6 acres of woodland with our house and thought that it would be a good idea to have a couple of glamping units. Our site is also on an agency website, www.qualityunearthed.com we use their prices though we can offer discounts for longer stays. The prices for the huts for 2019 vary from £520 to £1020 per week depending on which hut and which season you are booking. We also have some camping/motorhome/caravan pitches; prices are from £15 with electric hookup. Please contact us for further information.
