I Don't Do Big Groups!!

Tired of the large commercialised groups and want to steer in a different direction to the norm?

Have you had enough of the packed tour buses, crowded hotels, endless lines, confusing instructions, and not remembering which mascot on that long stick belongs to your tour guide!? Sounds like a bit of a nightmare doesn't it!? How about possibly sharing a room with someone you don't know!? And Oh....those single supplements...Ouch!!

This is the reality of post pandemic travel, and it is not a pretty sight, believe me...!

Moving Away From Mass Touring...

The crush of cruise ships descending on a tiny port and island, where the visitors outnumber the residents two-fold, and that's on a good day! Selfie posers hogging those highly sought after instagramable views (is that even a word?)

Suddenly, small group travel sounds really great! The benefits are endless! At SS&L a small group means maximum of 16. Only a private group with their own group es**rt who has requested my services, may add a few more of their own choosing.

The Promise...

As an experienced Tour Manager and Group Organiser, guiding tours in Europe for the past 36 years, I will select the best times for visiting venues, when the big tour groups are not there, when the cruise ships have sailed away. when it's not so hot! We might even get a sunset at the Acropolis (time of year dependent). Our hotel selections are not big chains, but family owned. I keep away from touristy entertainment sites with fixed menus. The choice of restaurants are where locals like to go, in their neighbourhoods and villages.

My ultimate goal is to bring you authentic experiences in an enjoyable, and much less stressful touring environment. Connecting you to the people, the land, the history, traditional regional food, with ease, accessibility, and sensitivity.

Think About It...

Imagine the difference a designer trip is to a copy and paste tour for the masses. There is simply no comparison!

Well, as the season progresses and now have two es**rted tours under my belt, today is the start of the unes**rted or FIT'S (Fully Independent Tours), with my first two guests arriving in Athens this evening from Nashville, TN. ✈️

An amazing, eclectic and romantic week staying a couple of nights on the beautiful Athens Riviera, then onto Monemvasia, staying in the most luxurious of surroundings for a few nights, including some wonderful interactive experiences, wine tasting, olive oil tasting, beekeeping, and a cooking class with a Michelin Star Chef... 🍷🫒🍜🐝

The romance 🩷 continues for three blissful nights on the gorgeous island of Kythera before heading back home.

Good evening friends...

Behold the island of Alonissos ~ Αλόννησος, found in the group of islands called the Sporades or North Aegean Islands, it is located in the prefecture of Magnesia....

It's a tiny island with an authentic feel, with only access to it by ferry from the mainland from the port of Agios Konstsntinos via Skiathos, or from the island of Evia.

Alonissos boasts the largest protected Bio Diverse Marine Park in Europe, with stunning beaches, crystal clear seas and the cutest residents as you can see....

For those of you who like diving, discover one of Greece's ancient shipwrecks, the 2,500 year old Peristera Wreck, with its thousands (30,000 - 40,000) of amphorae⚱️resting on the sea bed at a depth of 30 metres.

The name of this village is in a cheese...!
