Mixed feelings today, as many of you will be aware we are taking a break from the high street!
During the last 6 months the travel industry has been hit hard. To ensure we stay strong as a small business we have had to make the heartbreaking discision to hand our notice in on our beloved shop.
As much as we have got used to the working from home routine, it's not quite the same as having all our lovely customers popping in for a catch up and a chat so we will miss you all dearly ❤️
But chin up and business as usual, just from home for the moment...

Good morning

Just a little update after the news broke last night with regards to Virgin Atlantic, I just wanted to let you all know we have no further information. We understand from reading numerous articles the airline has not gone bust and this is what they legally have to do to progress the refinancing that was announced last month.

Virgin Atlantic filed for Chapter 15 bankruptcy protection in the Southern District of New York on Tuesday. Chapter 15 is a way for foreign companies to let US bankruptcy courts recognize restructuring efforts happening abroad. The company is not yet going out of business or liquidating its operations, which is what Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection is for.

The company has an asset management firm waiting to loan it £170 million ($222 million) to stop the immediate financial bleeding as soon as the five-year plan gets the okay from stakeholders and creditors. The rest of the value of the rescue plan comes from shareholders, including £200 million ($261 million) from Branson’s larger Virgin Group, cost savings, and possibly private investors. In court filings, Virgin Atlantic’s lawyers say the company already has support for the plan from a “substantial proportion of its stakeholders.”

As soon as we hear anything or receive a statement from Virgin Atlantic we will let you all, know individually.

All bookings are still live and Virgin Atlantic is still actively taking bookings. If I could ask that you hold off calling regarding individual bookings as we have no further information and normal bookings T&C still apply.

COVID-19 Information

Please read before coming in to see us

In line with government advice we are trying to take all the necessary precautions to help keep ourselves healthy so we can continue to work, our office on the high street open and our customer at the lowest risk possible.
With this in mind, we ask the following:

• If you have returned from travel outside the UK in the last 7 days please could you contact us by telephone or email, we are available on 01229775595 and [email protected] during work hours. Outside working hours we can be contacted on 07793549421 (please only use our out of hours service if it is an emergency)

• If we don’t have anyone in - please feel free to come in. If you could take a seat on the sofa then we can help you at a safe distance

• If we have customers in - please could you wait till they have finished and enter when they leave

Although this may feel over cautious to some, please be aware that I have a child at home who falls under the ‘vulnerable’ category of people at risk. I also have a duty of care to our staff members and customers. I’m trying to operate in a sensible but cautious environment in this difficult, unprecedented time.
Please help us take precautions that will help keep us here to help you.

Firstly we would like to thank all our customers for their patience whilst we have been trying to work through clients’ holidays that have been affected by this crisis.
We are concentrating on guests in resort and departures in the next 14 days in date order. If you are travelling with us in this 14 day period and haven't heard from us yet, please hold tight, we will be in touch with you in due course over the next few days.
