A little update on Bothy progress this Summer. The travel cot and high chair have been popular with younger guests. The Highland Coo hot water bottles have been reasonably well behaved - I’ve found them all over the house exploring when I’ve gone in to do changeovers 😂. I think they like watching TV on the sofa and watching the birds on the bird feeder, by the patio.
Suzy and Radley, the resident Bedlington Terriers, have taken their job of sofa testing very seriously when I’ve been in The Bothy. So far the verdict has been 10/10. Phew!
Suzy is also keen to say hello to the sheep just uphill from the Bothy when we go for a walk. She always pops her head through the gate, but the sheep aren’t so keen to “meet and greet” 😢. The rainbow a few days ago was amazing, with a hint of a second rainbow occasionally.
I’m building a “possibly rabbit proof” flower bed in front of The Bothy. Just waiting to get the netting on top and the stones round the edge, then I’ll be brave and put the plants in. Please send shiny positive thoughts for the plants, they are trembling with fear, poor things.
The frogs are much braver in the small pond behind the Bothy, they are splashing around as happy as can be! Maybe they should be cautious, a pair of peregrine falcons was spotted above The Bothy last week, and there are often buzzards and red kites.
