Yesterdays Summer Solstice and resulting Storm of biblical proportions on Lindisfarne will live long in the memory and be remembered for years to come as the thunder and lightning show lasted for hours and well into the early hours of Sunday morning.

❗ Don't delay! Place shallow dishes of fresh, clean water around your garden - they can be a lifeline to thirsty creatures like , birds & bees!

Add a few pebbles so insects can perch & safely drink too!

X& This month, most of these rare and less common queens will produce their first daughters - the workers
• For the Big Eight, many queens and their worker daughters will be joined by new males 🐝

Happy Father’s Day all. Phil is in Keswick celebrating with his boys so Alfie and I have been to Low Hauxley - always a good choice for a quiet stretch of beach at weekends. Lots of Terns to be seen and as the tide was out so the Oyster Catchers were enjoying the mud flats. Unfortunately Alfie enjoyed them too - by rolling around and then cleaning himself on my legs! Well seen it’s not Mother’s Day! 🙄😂 ♥️

The Story Of The Barns

Hidden away in the heart of Northumberland you’ll find The Barns, home to The Dairy and The Hide. Our secluded setting makes it hard to believe that we’re only 5 mins drive from the A1.

We have lived at The Barns for 16 years now and have been developing the buildings and the grounds throughout that time. We started with The Barns to house our blended/growing family, then started work on The Dairy and The Hide

Phil and I are pictured here with our two youngest, Megan and Ben - we were on our way to kiss the Blarney Stone in Cork - not that we need any help when it comes to talking!

We love our corner of Northumberland as we have all of the joy of living in a rural location and we are centrally located between three villages: Longhorsley to the South, Longframlington to the North and Felton to the East - all of which are only five minutes drive. Our nearest towns are Morpeth (15 mins South), Alnwick (15 mins North), Rothbury (15 mins West)... 15 mins to the East brings you to the beautiful Northumberland coast - perfection!!!!
