SIB6711 had the starter motor refitted today. The batteries were known to be low on charge so were removed from the vehicle and put on a stepped charge. On refitting later, the starter span well and the engine fired and ran well with the oil and charge lights extinguishing, and air pressure building. Once air pressure was on the required range the air bags inflated. Brakes applied and released and gear’s selected. The vehicle was moved forward and backward a few times with no issues.

The next steps are to replace the broken rear window, check electrical systems, and safety devices. We’ll then be able to consider what needs doing next…

SIB 6711 has recently had a wash and scrub to get rid of the moss, algae, and other greenness. Some of the vinyls have faded a bit, but the Northumbria Motor Services livery has weathered relatively well.
Please Note SIB 6711 is parked at a private residence and is not currently available for viewing (hence the heavy cropping of the photo.

As you will probably know, most rallies planned have been postponed due to “The Outbreak”. SIB 6711 was only possibly going to take part in a couple of North East ones as a static anyway, but this might give us time to get a few bits and pieces sorted. Though obviously it depends if we are able to get any parts required...

SIB6711 ran very well on the journey from Cambois to her new storage location, with a load of bits and pieces too. Hopefully another run out tomorrow. Thank you once again to the residents of Cambois and North Blyth for keeping an eye on her while there 🙂
