Fortunately, this post is rare, first time ever in 6 years actually!
Travelled the 2 hours down to Tenby after work this evening, kids in tow, to accommodate a last minute booking coming in tomorrow. We always do our best to accommodate our guests. On arrival, we opened the door to this!! A 5 night stay was more reminiscent of a nightmare longer term rental. It was absolutely filthy! Food all over the floors, soft furnishings needed to be thrown out and an absolute lack of respect shown to us. This was evident, with every single light been left on at the property, including the effort of putting the bathroom fan on permanently! Both Sarah and myself were shocked! What makes it worse, we’ve been busy at home for a few weekends and this was running the electric meter up without us knowing. Even unplugged the internet so I couldn’t control the thermostat 🤯
The vast majority of guests leave our holiday homes spotless. Occasionally you can see they have had a good week and the house/flat is well used, but that is absolutely fine. You are on holiday and it’s our job to get the property s***k and Spam for the next guests. What what we found today was an effort to disrespect us and absolute filth!! All this done in just 5 nights, and these photos do not do it justice!!
Holiday letting is a hard business, and the money we received for this booking is very low as it’s off season. The booking fee, plus a lot more, will now be spent paying a high utilities bill and replacing soft furnishings. Not to mention the countless packs of antibacterial wipes we’ve used.
I won’t name and shame, but these individuals are not welcome at our properties ever again, and they have been reported so that they are unable to use FBM holidays or Holiday cottages. We do not welcome people who live like this and show this level of disrespect to someone else’s property 🤢
