We are a family run business with almost 70 years of experience. We operate from April to October and our Dreamcatcher boat is a

lso often available to book before 1st of April. We have purpose-built passenger boats licensed and inspected by the Maritime Coastguard Agency which will take you safely out to sea. Your trip will be entirely within the Cardigan Bay 'Special Area of Conservation' departing from the historic pier at New-Quay. Our company has been a SeaWatch Foundation recommended boat operator in New Quay for over fifteen years. The main attraction is one which we cannot guarantee but that adds to the experience when they appear, we pause at seal haul-out areas and bird colonies where you can see a number of coastal species depending on time of year. Bottlenose dolphins frequent the bay in great numbers between April and October, Wildlife is protected in Cardigan Bay so we aim to give you the best encounters with our wildlife without causing them any disturbance. Our wildlife guides will give you loads of amazing information about dolphins, seals, birds etc. Our boats are available for private charter like birthday, hen party, and also film and media charter available. In 2024 we introduce 'Suncatcher' the first dolphin spotting boat in west Wales with an upper deck, she has unrivalled views plus and indoor area offering hot and cold snacks. Tickets can be purchased directly here: https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/newquayboattrips/?full-items=yes&flow=170948 and also can be purchased from the booking office in the usual way. The Seal pups being spotted on trips are growing bigger by the day which is amazing to see.
Some blustery conditions recently bringing swell and spray to Seal’s Bay for some dramatic photos.

Love is in the air 💓

September marks a very special and important time of year for our Grey Seals as their pupping season coincides with their breeding season. While the beaches can be busy with adorable new arrivals, there’s also plenty of romance happening out at sea! 🥰

*** PLEASE NOTE
Photos were taken using a telephoto zoom lens at 400mm then cropped post-processing.
To spot Seals & pups it is highly advisable to bring binoculars and/or a camera with a zoom lens.
We do not approach seals less than 100m away on trips either on land or in the water. This distance will increase when a pup is born onto a beach / inlet. Again, this is a critical time of year for Seals and although we absolutely want to show you these amazing animals and educate you all about them, their health and safety comes first 💙

🐬 Sunday Funday with Cream! 🐬

A little Sunday fun from our playful youngster Cream, who certainly knows how to entertain themselves 🐟💦

These photos were taken yesterday capturing Cream playing with a fish — tossing it around, chasing it and showing off their wonderfully curious and playful ‘dolphinality’

Cream is Berry’s calf who is now around a year old and is growing into such a confident, active young dolphin. He/she is regularly spotted swimming side by side with mum, however Cream also loves playing with the other calves in the local maternity pod
- but sometimes a fish or a piece of seaweed will make the perfect playmate! 😂🐬💙

Goodbye August… hello September! 🐬👋

What a fantastic summer it has been!
We have had lots of beautiful sunny days and calm seas and some truly unforgettable wildlife encounters. August has certainly delivered — and we’ve loved sharing it with you all. 💙

But as we say goodbye to August, the wildlife season is far from over! 🐬
September is here and the Dolphins are still being spotted regularly so there are plenty more opportunities to get out on the water and hopefully enjoy some incredible encounters.

Our boat trips continue to run all day, every day (weather depending) giving you the chance to experience the wonderful wildlife of Cardigan Bay this autumn 🍂

September also enters the main time of seal pupping season! 🦭❤️ Our Grey Seals are starting to welcome their beautiful white-coated pups along the coast, making this an especially exciting time of year for wildlife watching - don’t forget to bring zoom lenses and binoculars to spot them!

Here’s to a brilliant September and many more amazing wildlife encounters! 🐬🦭💙

Wow. What a day!
We thought we had escaped the storm heading in to the afternoon with nothing seemingly happening in the little micro-climate of New Quay…
But it found us and with it brought the most extraordinary views of storm clouds.
These are some of the most dramatic skies we have seen in a long time. So, so beautiful.
Nature really is amazing.
Well done to all our brave passengers facing the thunder and lightning on our storm chasing trip today ! (We temporarily had to rename Suncatcher)
We hope you enjoy the photos taken by wildlife guide & photographer Sarah Michelle Wyer

Who else got some epic photos of the storms today?! Wherever you are in the UK, We’d love to see them! ⛈️
