What are your plans this weekend? Why not get out and about and enjoy some of the area’s diverse history with Farnsfield’s Heritage Trail!

Talk a long walk around the village taking in heritage points along the way or enjoy a series of shorter loops which offer a “bite size” portion of the main trail.

Heritage points you’ll see along the way include Hexgreave Hall and Estate, Farnsfield Gasworks, Farnsfield Waterworks and the Good Intent Windmill plus much more!

🍽️ However you choose to follow the race we hope you have a great day, why not take the opportunity to support the local businesses along the route by getting some refreshments as you go.🍻

If you normally use Sconce and Devon park, the retail parks and car parks on Northgate or Castle Gate or in the towns and villages along the route there will be some disruption during the day as the race travels through the district. We apologise for any inconvenience, and hope that you can enjoy watching these elite athletes.

Every year on 19 August photographers are encouraged to capture an image. So, why not get involved with our photography competition and send us your best shot!

There are different categories for younger photographers aged under 18 with four prizes of £50 and an open section with 2 prizes of £100.

So celebrate world photography day and maybe win a prize as well.

Three weeks until the Tour of Britain hits the district!

From Blidworth to Southwell and on to Newark the route takes in lots of our villages and communities again this year.

Last year we saw amazing decorations, flags and celebrations all along the route. Can we do even better this year?

We want as many of our local communities to get involved. If you are part of a group or club and you are planning something, whether it's a massive piece of land art which the commentary team can see from their helicopter, or something smaller, like Bilsthorpe's bike cut-outs and the creative hedge decoration in Collingham.
