ooker and hob, microwave & full-size fridge freezer so plenty space for stocking up. The lounge, with free standing sofas, gives access via the French Doors to the spacious front decking area in which to sit and enjoy them all important sundowners. THE SITE: Church Point is a quiet, peaceful site, it sits on a headland next to St Bartholomew’s Church which dates back to the 1100s, To the left of the site (looking out to sea) you have direct access to a great beach ideal for dog walks whilst to the right side of the site a gate leads to a picnic site on the headland in front of the church where the path winds down to the main family beach. IMMEDIATE VICINITY: Just outside the site is a children’s playground and golf club. Italian, Indian & takeaway restaurants along with an array of shops are found a few minutes’ walk away in the high street. The main family beach sits in front of a promenade with pubs and cafes (pet friendly) aplenty. There’s a great butchers & fruit shop but for the bigger shop the Co-op is adequate or take a 7-minute drive to Asda in nearby Ashington. With over 600 different species of birds, seals & dolphins it’s a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. FURTHER AFIELD: The Retreat makes a great base from which to explore the AONB Northumberland Coastline. Just a 20-minute drive will take you to Amble Marina & Harbour or Alnwick and beyond. Renowned for its historic castles and unspoilt coastlines Northumberland Coast has something for everyone. Popular walks include Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle or Seahouses to Bamburgh Castle. A trip over to the Farne Islands from Seahouses is a must, though you can also take a boat trip from Amble to Coquet Island. Closer to The Retreat is stunning Druridge Bay & Cresswell Beach, try the Drift Café opposite Cresswell Beach. However you choose to spend your time, you can be assured of a warm northern welcome.
