At a Public Inquiry convened to discuss operator licensing this week, City Transport held constructive discussions with the Traffic Commissioner and we are pleased to say it is business as usual.

So this afternoon our 11101 went to visit the South Yorkshire Transport Trust and met his ancestors:

Wright Streetcar 19000 S90FTR / YK06CZN - formerly named A Streetcar Named Desire after the Tennessee Williams play. A Volvo B7LA underneath.

Leyland DAB 2013 C113HDT, one of the second batch of articulated buses that Sheffield had. This vehicle has its engine in the front section (underneath).

Sheffield - thank you for all kind comments on socials and so on.

City Transport Group Ltd have requested a Public Inquiry hearing to enable it to make legal submissions regarding the interpretation of an aspect of the operator licence legislation and it is pleased to report this application has been granted. The matter to be debated does not relate to issues of road safety or the delivery of a safe and reliable passenger transport service. City Transport Group Ltd continues to deliver high quality, safe and reliable bus services to its passengers.

There is a fire on the same industrial site where our yard is located. Our personnel who are on site are safe, and complying with the h&s instructions from the fire brigade.

Pleased to say that as an operator we undertake (voluntary) brake tests with every PMI.

The imbalance on the rear axle, whilst still a pass, will be investigated and things either adjusted, or new parts ordered as necessary.

Whilst we tend not to shout about things we are doing, preferring instead to work collaboratively with our clients on their projects and the successful delivery thereof, we now have both of our high capacity crowd movers in fleet livery (vinyls awaited) and available to move crowds of people - upto 147 per articulated bus. These vehicles are compliant with the latest emissions and accessibility rules (euro VI, PSVAR and AIR if you want the letters).

Would you like to join us? We have a full-time driver vacancy in our Special Events and Rail Replacement team, based in but working across the North and beyond.

Please note that core working hours are weekends, with midweek requirements shared. All full-time people are given their choice of midweek days off. Weekends away from base are fairly common (midscale hotel rooms provided, with no sharing with colleagues). A good knowledge of both the highways network and railway network would be beneficial.

We are looking for people who are smart, presentable, able to put our clients at the heart of what we do, and who wish to excel and grow with us. 37.5 hours per week basic.
